REVIEW

GENRE
Romance (Korean-drama-style)

PLOT
A really good Korean-style plot (reason for the title, I guess?).

POINT OF VIEW
Amazing POVs, both the hero's and heroine's. The hero's POV especially.

CHARACTERS

MAUREEN
I really can't help imagining her as one of those cute K-drama heroines. Though I'm not sure if she resembles an existing K-drama character. As for her age, I think her personality fits her and her work. Consistent.

GAVIN
I like Gavin's character. He's not too cool, like most executives or CEOs, and not too spoiled as a rich kid. It's like his feet are still on the ground despite his success. Even drives his own car. He's someone that can be reached and he has a good heart. So far, the best hero I've read in Filipino romance.

OTHER DETAILS
I liked that it covered some of the realities of relationships and breakups. About moving on, without being over dramatic.

I loved the conversations and confrontations between the hero and heroine. They were consistent to their characters.

The plot was good. The conflicts sufficient for the story.

Jaden's appearance, as Gavin's brother, spiced up the story, too. I like their bickering.

Favorite scene: When all four characters (Maureen, Gavin, Rovie, and Jaden) gathered at Maureen's house. It was funny and cute.

Favorite dialogue: Gavin's. He was in a bad mood because of Maureen's civilized response to her ex.

CONCLUSION
I enjoyed it. So much that I bought the next book, Jaden's story. Though that one did not fulfill my expectations. But seriously, why is it that this kind of book doesn't get a "reader's choice" seal? Technically, it's really good. Pero kung maayos at magandang kuwento, iyong may lalim at may patutunguhan, I'm confident that this novel is worth a reader's choice seal.

  1. Hi there!

First I wanted to say thank you for spending time not just by giving a review but by reading my book. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know how hard it is (at least for me) to make a review. And a very decent one. Countless times I've tried to make a review on my favorite movies but it's really really hard. Maybe I'm just lazy, haha.

Anyways, I do appreciate your too good to be true words. After reading this I have doubts if it is really my work you've read? Haha, I've literally run through the pages of this story again just to make sure. And thank you for being honest. Kahit kaunti lang yung sinabi mo about dun sa story ni Jaden, I can feel it na na-dissapoint ka sa story (am I right?)

I can't say more, parang ang dami ko ng nasabi. Please continue doing reviews. Newbie writers like me needed someone like you. I'd actually love to hear your thoughts on jaden's story. Pero parang 1 book per newbie writer yata ang target mo so, yeah, give chance to others, hehe.

Godbless and more reviews to come!
