“Kahit saglit pa lang tayong nasa friendship zone ay kinikilig na ako nang sobra dahil sa `yo.”

Arwin was a writer.
Nadine was a band vocalist.
Magkaibang-magkaiba ang mga mundong ginagalawan nila kaya daig pa nila ang mga asteroid na nagbanggaan nang minsang magtagpo ang kanilang mga landas. Nadine thought Arwin was better enough to be the king of the devil’s land.
Pero kung totoo iyon, bakit mabilis na nahulog ang loob niya sa binata nang ligawan siya nito?
She was absolutely ready to fall for him. Kaya laking gulat niya nang sa pagkahulog niya ay hindi nito nagawang saluhin ang puso niya.

GENRE

PLOT
The plot was simple, but okay.

POINT OF VIEW
The heroine's POV was okay, but the hero's POV ruined the impact of his character.

CHARACTERS

NADINE
It's fine that she was a struggling vocalist. It's fine to let her have problems. Don't solve it for her by giving her some unexpected benefactor. Surpassing monetary problems is an artist's motivation and ultimate goal. That's why the story has a nice touch of reality to it. I just wished she was given more hardships. She would have bloomed beautifully.

ARWIN
He lost his appeal by being a struggling-writer-but-supported-by-mama-whatever-happens until the end. There were no improvements that would elevate her in the eyes of a romantic heroine (or a romantic reader). Romance novels create heroes, not ordinary guys.

Their connection was not established well. Everything was too fast.

COMPARISONS
Like that one-shot TV show on weekend mornings. Simple and light. Not too tense to upset your breakfast or ruin your lunch.

OTHER DETAILS
It's a simple story. A boy-next-door, girl-next-door type of story. But I liked that it wasn't pretentious. It didn't require complex conflicts or hidden agendas. But it didn't stand out.

CONCLUSION
There were funny and romantic scenes, but not enough to satisfy my appetite. However, if the writer writes simple stories nicely, I think she's capable of pulling off those complex novels. Because judging by the number of new writers under PHR, if you want to be recognized, you have to stand-out. Meaning, you have to surpass your limits and keep pushing yourself to dig out your potential.
